Liberal Democrats’ campaign for an improved street cleansing service along Noctorum Way has succeeded.
The whole length of the road from Upton Station to St Saviour’s church at the top of Townfield Lane is to be cleansed every four weeks, starting this month. Previously it was only scheduled on a twelve-weekly cycle.
David Evans said, “It was ridiculous that this area, with a parade of shops and two schools, was only being cleansed four times a year. Full marks to Councillor Stuart Kelly in persisting with his campaign for an improved service.”
And there is more good news: two double litter bins are to be installed at the Townfield shops.
