Merseytravel have unveiled their final plans for the new Wirral bus services and, following the campaign by Allan Brame and the Oxton FOCUS Team, a bus will continue to serve the Holmlands estate.
The much-loved 154 will sadly be withdrawn from next month, but the 90 will be diverted to provide an alternative service for the Holmlands estate.
This will be a huge relief for the many elderly residents who rely on a bus service to get out and about. We suggested that Merseytravel should consider re-routing the 90 and it is excellent that they listened to people who know the local area.”
Precise details and timetable are not available yet, but the outline of all the changes can be found here: http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/about-us/Documents/WirralReviewFinalChanges.pdf
It looks as though the 38 will provide a connection from Birkenhead bus station to St Caths.
A big thank you to the many residents who completed our survey or contacted Merseytravel directly and helped keep a local bus running.
