Jamie Saddler - Liberal Democrat PPC for Wirral South

About Me

Jamie moved to the Wirral at the age of six, and he has lived in both Moreton and Hoylake over the last seventeen years. Jamie went to school at Lingham Lane Primary in Moreton before going on to Calday Grange Grammar School, graduating in 2004. He later studied at the University of Leeds, gaining a BA (Hons.) in Political Studies, and a MA in British Politics and Parliamentary Studies. Jamie now works as a Researcher for Andrew Stunell MP.

Jamie has been a member of the Liberal Democrats since 2005, and has been involved with the party ever since. Active in local politics in Leeds during his time at University, Jamie helped lead several local campaigns in the city, and encouraged young people to get more involved in politics. He also spearheaded a successful campaign to draw attention to the problem of, and raise money to combat discrimination and bullying in schools.

Jamie's main political interests include education, law and order, the environment and energy policy, civil liberties, international relations, the constitution and political reform. As well as being a member of the Liberal Democrats, he is also a member of Liberty, Amnesty International, Unlock Democracy and the Electoral Reform Society.

Away from politics, Jamie enjoys sport, particularly football and cricket, and is a passionate supporter of both Everton Football Club, and Lancashire County Cricket Club. Jamie also enjoys reading, writing and occasionally dabbles in the kitchen, where he can make a pretty mean chilli!
