SADDLER SELECTED BY LIB DEMS TO FIGHT WIRRAL SOUTH

Wirral South Lib Dems met in Bebington last weekend to select Jamie Saddler as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for the next General Election, expected within six months.

Jamie was unanimously selected at a meeting of the local party at Bebington Liberal Club on Friday 23rd October.

A local lad, Jamie was brought up on the Wirral, and is a former pupil at Calday Grammar School. Jamie is a formidable campaigner, and is no stranger to frontline politics, having fought to elect Liberal Democrats in Leeds, Southampton and Stockport. He now works as a Researcher for Hazel Grove MP Andrew Stunell.

Commenting after his selection, Jamie Saddler said:

“I'm delighted to have been selected to fight Wirral South for the Liberal Democrats, and eager to get to work.

“I was brought up in the area, and I care passionately about what happens to the Wirral, and the people who live here.

“People are tired of the same old blue-red red-blue politics of Labour and the Tories, and desperately want change. I am going to spend the next six months showing local people that the Liberal Democrats are the only ones who can deliver real change for Britain.”

Councillor Tom Harney (Eastham), and Chair of Wirral South Liberal Democrats added:

“We are delighted to have selected Jamie as our candidate. He will bring youth and energy to the campaign trail, and will make a fantastic MP for our area.

“After the expenses scandal, trust in politicians is at an all-time low, and politicians of all stripes are going to have to work hard to regain that trust. The people of Wirral South deserve first-class representation in Parliament, from someone with integrity, who they can trust, and who stands by what they believe in. Jamie is that person, and I'm sure local residents will see that, and respond positively to him.”
