Steve Niblock was first elected to represent Bromborough Ward at the 2002 local elections, gaining the Council seat overwhelmingly from the local entrenched Labour opposition.

At the 2004 local elections Steve was re-elected for a further 4 years with an even bigger majority of 1,487 votes. The elections saw the Liberal Democrats in the area gain over 60% of the popular vote with the other parties trailing way behind.

Steve Niblock is the Liberal Democrats' Shadow Cabinet Spokesperson for Environment and is on the Council's Environment and Transportation Select Committee.

Steve has previously been the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Social Inclusion and for Housing and Community Safety.

In addition, Steve represents the Liberal Democrat group as a member of the Board of Directors of the Wirral Multi Cultural Centre and is Wirral Council's only appointed representative to the Port Sunlight Conservation Area.

Steve Niblock is a very active and hard working local Councillor and is involved in many organisations in the New Ferry, Port Sunlight, Bromborough Pool, Spital and Bromborough areas of Bromborough Ward.

He is also the Chair of Wirral South Constituency Liberal Democrats. A post which he has held for the last 2 years.
